Carved on the key is arabic writing which means in english "we will be back".
During the Nakba in 1948, zionist military forces expelled more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands and captured 78% of historic Palestine. The remaining 22% was divided into what is now called the Occupied West Bank and the beseiged Gaza Strip. Until today, all Palestinians kept the key of their home for the day they return.
